Huawei released the Watch Fit last year, and now the Elegant version of this watch is on its way. We decided to see how it differs from last year’s device and whether it is worth overpaying $20 for new Huawei Watch Fit Elegant. Who is too lazy to read – yes, it is worth it, but not everyone will agree with this.

Steel

It’s amazing how the perception of a device can change just because of the material of manufacture. The original Watch Fit was housed in a plastic case, except perhaps outwardly similar to aluminum. The case is like a case – the appearance of the watch did not cause a wow effect, it was an ordinary inexpensive wearable accessory, of which there are many.
Elegant changed the plastic to polished stainless steel – and the perception of the device changed dramatically. The modified Watch Fit looks much more expensive than its price. This is, without exaggeration, a stylish accessory that is trite to look at. I also added an ascetic monochrome dial in Always On mode – it’s a real bomb live.
The switch to metal made the device a little heavier and now weighs 27 grams instead of 21. This addition, of course, is not felt, the Watch Fit Elegant still remains a very light watch.

The silver steel is complemented by a black silicone strap with the same steel buckle as the case itself. The strap is silicone, but the manufacturer claims that the material is different from what can be found in regular Watch Fit. They say that the updated strap is more durable, more resistant to stretching and heat. Well, let’s believe – we didn’t tear up and burn the device anyway.
There is also a Watch Fit Elegant version with a white strap and gold-colored steel. We would venture to suggest that this is a purely feminine version, while the silver one that has visited us can be called universal.

The rest of the watch design has remained unchanged. There is still a single button here, a gorgeous 1.64-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 280 × 456 pixels and a microphone for a voice assistant, which still does not work for us.
Watch Fit Elegant is a cool upgrade of a successful watch model. Just by using steel instead of plastic, the developers made the device more elegant, which is reflected in the name of the updated model.
Functionality
But the capabilities of Watch Fit Elegant have not changed. So sleep and stress monitoring, heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen measurements and a billion types of workouts are still here.
The basic settings are available through the watch, but the wide range of customization options for the interface is only available through the smartphone app. There you can find a billion more home screen designs, both free and for a few American cents.
Calls can still only be received on the headset connected to the smartphone. That is, it will be impossible to talk to anyone after hours. How to install third-party apps.
Recall that Watch Fit can also remotely control the music player on a smartphone, activate the camera on the phone. A flashlight, cycle calendar, timer, stopwatch, alarms and phone finder are all found in the long list of the watch menu.
Autonomy
The length of time the watch will stretch without being connected to the mains strongly depends on the mode of use of the Watch Fit. We did not turn off sleep tracking, we used the Always On screen, the watch regularly checked the pulse and blood oxygen saturation. In general, we drove the device to the tail and mane. As a result, about 20-25% of the battery charge was consumed per day. That is, one charge should be enough for four to five days.
If you limit the automation in its appetites, it is quite possible to extend the autonomy up to a week. Probably, if you leave the minimum backlight level and turn off all trackers, then in Watch Fit mode, the manufacturer’s declared 10 days of work will last.
Charging is carried out via the supplied cable with a magnetic holder. There is no charger in the box, so you will have to take care of it yourself. Can also be charged through the ports of a computer / laptop.
It takes about an hour to charge. The first five minutes should provide a Watch Fit day.
Conclusions

Some may be confused by what the manufacturer calls the Watch Fit a smartwatch, not a bracelet. In reality, it is rather a very beautiful, advanced, but still a bracelet with a large display. There is essentially no interaction with notifications – they can only be read and deleted, you cannot install third-party applications, answer a call or make a call.
But as an advanced fitness bracelet, the Huawei Watch Fit Elegant looks great. Especially thanks to the stylish steel case – for which the manufacturer definitely respects.
